As i have spend two years in bangalore Mysore is always a favorite place for me.The road always calling me to ride on it.So i started my first ride in karnataka state. It is about 146 km.It was the time of dushera 2015.Me and always my wife (mithi)made our mind to take a ride to mysore. So i talked to my friend Ambuj for joining us.So he also got ready with his wife.First we made our bikes ready for the trip.
Next morning we started our journey at 8 o'clock as we called eachother in morning 6 o'clock but ambuj had make some delay.Me and mithi had taken bread, jaam, apples, and two botlle of water. So we started from jigani. We had two ways but we tookthe simple and safe road that is through the ring road.It is the widest unstopable road.We had spend 25 ruppes for toal to ring road. This road i like the most. You can test your bike by running the highest speed. It is the open road.Evenif my bikewas running in 80 to 85 i was seeking more.
After running one and half hour we stopped to take snacks and tea because as it was winter season we were feeling cold.So we had taken 30 minutes rest.As it was holiday the road was jaamed. Sometimes i am following to ambuj and sometimes he was following us.Before journey i had seen the road map in GPS.And it was the only road NH275,that we have to follow. After riding of one hour we felt hungry. So we stopped our bike side of the NH.It was a good place have full of trees and we had taken a small benefit by resting under the trees with cool shadow. If someone does not want to take food or snacks with them then no problem. This NH have lot of hotels and restaurants side by side. But i am always believing that to take some food with you.
Ambuj had some problem with his bike seat.He was searching new bike seat cover for a comfortable ride.So we again stopped for repairing of the seat cover. And i was searching hand gloves to ride comfortably so i asked a shop nearby and luckily he gave me two pairs of hand gloves without any cost.It was totally free.So after halfanhour again we have started our journey and we have decided we should not stop before mysore. But we had not booked any hotel and lodge for staying there.Ambuj was always saying that he will arrange everything there. But during this journey we are checking rooms by different online sites. But due to dushera the room rent was high.
The name Mysore means the abode of Mahisha in the local Kannada language. Though in Sanskrit Mahisha means buffalo, here Mahisha refers to Mahishasura, a mythological demon who could assume the form of both human and buffalo. According to Hindu mythology, the area was ruled by the demon Mahishasura. The demon was killed by the Goddess Chamundeshwari, whose temple is situated on the top of the Chamundi Hills.
Mysore is well known for the festivities that take place during the period of Dushera, the state festival of Karnataka. The Dushera festivities, which are celebrated over a ten-day period, were first introduced by King Raja Wodeyar I in 1610.On the ninth day of Dushera, called Mahanavami, the royal sword is worshiped and is taken on a procession of decorated elephants, camels and horses. On the tenth day, called Vijayadashami, the traditional Dasara procession (locally known as Jumboo Savari) is held on the streets
of Mysore which usually falvisls in the month of September or October.the Idol of the Goddess Chamundeshwari is placed on a golden mantapa on the back of a decorated elephant and taken on a procession. So for us it was a holly day as we are belongs to hindu religion.
Ok now story is that we stared our ride to VRINDAVAN GARDEN.It is 25 km from mysore city.Very beautiful place.Actually it is a dam(water resorvoir)made on kaveri river. And the government also made a big garden there and daily evening 7 o clock they are organising the musical fountain show there. It was realy awesome. One should go vrindavan garden for its splendid beauty. After spending 1 hour we have planned to return to our mysore
and it was night 8 o'clock .Then on the way to mysore we have taken dinnerin a restaurant.
Next day morning we wake up at 6 o clock. As we had not visited mysore place last day.We planned to visit mysore palace first then chamundi hills.but as it was the day of holy festival dushera, mysore palace was closed for normal public. So directly we went to the ancient church() It was looking awesome and very beautiful. When i saw it i saw the creativity ,the art made on it.I took some snaps of it.It is so tall thati could not take the whole church in my camera. But i tried a lot and took some good images of it.
Then without any delay we started our journey to chamundi hills.Chamundi hill is about 15 km from mysore.Maa chamudi devi who has killed the demon mahisasura. So if we visited the demons city mysore, it will not possible without the blessings of chamundi devi.So after getting blessings from chamundi devi we started to travel in a new way
Ambuj had made some calls and discussed with local peoples and they told their is BARAH CHUKI water falls near 40 km fro here.So we again started our vehicles. After travelling about 40 km we got the point .But it is also not easy to get their and took bath. The falls is very big and its beauty is terrible. For bath we have to go down by steps it is may be near about 50 to 60 steps. We can go down but it is difficult to climb again to top.So we spend some time there and took some snaps for our life album and started our journey to Bangalore
We realy too tired we have no option to stay anywhere. As we have traveled around 500 km in two days we had no plan to stay anywhere.Anyhow we have to come back to our room and that time we were realy missing our city.We had made lot of fun there. We learn something. We have seen new places. And it always increasing the interest to be a traveller and it always making me to fall in love again to travel.WHEELS N HIKES.
